Safeguarding

The UAC National Coordination Council Australia (NCC) is proactively working towards meeting the safeguarding responsibilities set by the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.  This is called the Safeguarding Children and Young People Framework and guides the implementation of the child safety policies, procedures and practices for all parishes.

There is a lot of information available to support the NCC as well as information for volunteers to become familiar with the requirements. For more information and resources on Safeguarding, please visit the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne website:

Our Safeguarding Committee comprises the following members:

Mary Whiting,

Fr Dean Bradbury

Marita Dunphy

If you have any questions/concerns, please contact Marita Dunphy on 0438 608 070.

Volunteering with UAC

The NCC welcomes volunteers across our Ministries and outreach. Please contact us to talk about how you can support.

Should you commit to becoming a volunteer, we require all volunteers to:

  • Complete Online Safeguarding Training (as outlined above,  every 3 years)
  • Agree to, and sign our Code of Conduct
  • Provide a valid Working with Children Check linked to UAC
  • Provide basic contact details (stored confidentially) in the event of an emergency.

The members of the Union of Catholic Apostolate in Australia acknowledge all of the Traditional Owners who have walked upon and cared for these lands for thousand of years. We acknowledge the continued deep spiritual attachment and relationship of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to this country and commit ourselves to the ongoing Journey to Reconciliation and Transformation.
