Apostolic Prayer of St. Vincent Pallotti

L.     Eternal Father, it is your will that all should be saved.
R. Great is your mercy. Your Son, Jesus Christ, died for all.
Teach all people to recognize you and love you.
L. With deep faith in Christ's death and resurrection, we pray:
R. send forth, O Lord, labourers into your vineyard, and spare your people.
L. Eternal Word, Redeemer of all creation, lead all people to yourself:
R. you have been obedient for all, even to death on the cross.
L. Look upon the merits of your Mother and of all the angels and saints.
They intercede for us.
R. Send forth, O Lord, labourers into your vineyard, and spare your people.
L. Holy Divine Spirit, through the infinite merits of our Lord Jesus Christ,
R. enkindle in all hearts your ardent love, that can do all things,
that all may be one fold and one shepherd,
and all may arrive in heaven to sing your divine mercy.
L. Queen of Apostles and all the angels and saints,
pray to the Lord of the harvest
R. to send labourers into his vineyard and spare your people,

Prayer of St. Vincent Pallotti to Mary, Queen of Apostles

L     Immaculate Mother of God, Queen of Apostles,
R we know that God's commandment of love and our vocation
to follow Jesus Christ in the Union of Catholic Apostolate,
impels us to cooperate in the saving mission of the Church.
L Realizing our weakness, we entrust the renewal of our personal lives
and our apostolate to your intersession.
R We are confident that through God's mercy and the infinite merits of Jesus Christ,
you who are our Mother, will obtain for us the strength of the Holy Spirit
as you obtained it for the community of Apostles gathered in the Cenacle.
L. Therefore, relying on your powerful intercession, we are resolved from this moment on,
to devote our talents, learning, material resources, and every gift of nature and grace,
to the greater glory of God and the salvation of all.
R. We wish to do all that lies within our power to promote the Catholic Apostolate
for the revival of faith and love in the people of God
and so bring all to faith in Jesus Christ.
L. And if a time should come when we shall no longer be able to work physically for this end,
we will never cease to pray that there may be one fold and one shepherd, Jesus Christ.
R. In that way, we hope to enjoy the fruits of the apostolate of Jesus Christ
for all eternity. Amen.

Prayer of St. Vincent Pallotti to Mary, Queen of Apostles (older translation)

L     Immaculate Mother of God,
Queen of Apostles,
I know that the divine precept
which commands me to love my neighbour as myself,
R obliges me to procure in every way possible
the eternal salvation of my neighbour
as well as my own.
L I confess that, on account of my own sins,
I am unworthy to receive the grace necessary
to devote myself effectually and constantly
to the salvation of my own soul
and those of my relatives and neighbour,
R especially by the promotion of good works
and the multiplication of temporal and spiritual means
adapted to the revival of faith
L and the enkindling of charity among Catholics
and the propagation of these same virtues
throughout the world.
R But you O Holy Virgin,
will obtain it for me,
through the mercy of God
and the infinite merits of Jesus Christ.
L And to this end,
in union with you and all the heavenly court
and with all the just
who are and will be in the Church of God,
R I intend,
through the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and your own most pure Heart,
to offer at every moment, now and forever,
L the same merits of Jesus in thanksgiving,
as if you had obtained this grace for me and for all,
as you obtained it for the holy Apostles.
R. Therefore, relying on your powerful intercession,
I resolve that from this time on,
whatever I shall have from God:
L talents, learning, health, sickness, and tribulations
and every gift of nature and grace;
everything will be employed for the greater glory of God,
R for the eternal salvation
of my own soul and that of my neighbour,
L especially by the promotion of good works
directed to the spread of and piety throughout the world.
R. And if a time should come
when I shall no longer be able to labour for this end,
L I will never cease to pray
that there may be one fold and one shepherd.
R And thus I hope to arrive in Paradise
and enjoy the fruits of the Apostolate of Jesus Christ
for all eternity. Amen.

Invocation of the Holy Spirit

L.     Come, Holy Spirit,
R. Fill the hearts of your faithful,
and kindle in them the fire of your love. (Alleluia.)
L. Send forth your Spirit, and they will be created. (Alleluia.)
R. And you will renew the face of the earth. (Alleluia.)
L. O God, you taught the faithful
through the inner light of the Holy Spirit.
In that same Spirit let us recognize what is right
and be always joyful in him who consoles us.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord.
R. Amen.

L.     For our deceased members, relatives and benefactors.

Psalm 130(129)  "A prayer of repentance and trust"

1.     Out of the depth I cry to you, O Lord
Lord, hear my voice!
O let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleading.
2. If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt,
Lord, who would survive?
But with you is found forgiveness:
for this we revere you.
1. My soul is waiting for the Lord.
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the Lord
more than those who watch for daybreak.
(Let the watchers count on daybreak
and Israel on the Lord).
2. Because with the Lord there is mercy
and fullness of redemption,
Israel indeed he will redeem
from all its iniquity.
L. Give them eternal rest, O Lord,
R. and may your light shine on them.
L. May they rest in peace.
R. Amen.

Closing Petitions

L.     To the banquet of eternal glory,
R. lead us, Christ, our risen Lord.
L. Mary, Queen of Apostles,
R. pray for us.
L. Saint Vincent Pallotti,
R. pray for us.

L.     For our deceased members, relatives and benefactors.

Psalm 51(50)   "A prayer of contrition"

1.     Have mercy on me, God, in your kindness.
In your compassion blot out my offence.
O wash me more and more from my guilt
and cleanse me from my sin.
2. My offences truly I know them:
my sin is always before me.
Against you, you alone, have I sinned:
what is evil in your sight I have done.
1. That you may be justified when you give sentence
and be without reproach when you judge.
O see, in guilt I was born,
a sinner was I conceived.
2. Indeed you love truth in the heart:
then in the secret of my heart teach me wisdom.
O purify me, then I shall be clean:
O wash me, then I shall be whiter than snow.
1. Make me hear rejoicing and gladness
that the bones you have crushed may thrill.
From my sins turn away your face
and blot out all my guilt.
2. A pure heart create for me, O God,
put a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence,
nor deprive me of your Holy Spirit.
1. Give me again the joy of your help;
with a spirit of fervour sustain me,
that I may teach transgressors your ways
and sinners may return to you.
2. O rescue me, God, my helper,
and my tongue shall ring out your goodness.
O Lord, open my lips
and my mouth shall declare your praise.
1. For in sacrifice you take no delight,
burnt offering from me you would refuse;
my sacrifice, a contrite spirit,
a humbled, contrite heart you will not spurn.
2. In your goodness, show favour to Zion;
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
Then you will be pleased with lawful sacrifice,
(burnt offerings wholly consumed),
then you will be offered young bulls on your altar.
